Sorting Through The Attic
Now, we have to start somewhere and as confusing as Fairport's chronology
gets at times(it's not called Fotheringport Confusion for nothing, but we'll get to that) this seemed to be the best place
to start out, meet some of the folk who have been and some who still are involved with Fairport. It has been said that once
a member of Fairport always a member of Fairport, no matter where you go off to, and we here agree....anyway here's the list,
for which we have to thank, Fairport's album covers, Pete Frame's Fairport Family Tree charts, and Steve Bailey for giving
us the idea in the first place. Any mess, mistakes or anything else is entirely our responsibility and you have no one to
blame but us
Fairport Convention played its very first gig on Saturday 27 May 1967 at St Michael's Church Hall on Golders Green Road,
London NW11. 'Opposite Woolworths' it said in the Melody Maker advert and gave the admission price as five shillings
(25 pence).
